This past Martin Luther King Jr. Weekend, ABP traveled to Miami to serve alongside three incredible nonprofit partners: The Salvation Army, Dragonfly Thrift Store, and the YMCA.

From hands-on service projects to meaningful community engagement, our participants had the opportunity to make an impact while learning more about the communities they served.

Thank you to our partners and volunteers for an inspiring weekend of service.

During our winter ABP trip to Cu***ng, GA, we partnered with Furkids, the largest no-kill shelter in the Southeast for rescued cats and a no-kill shelter for dogs. Our goal was to support Furkids’ mission of giving a second chance to homeless animals by providing the essential daily care and love these dogs and cats need to thrive.

We spent time at the Furkids Headquarters, home to the Fort and Michele Felker Cat Shelter. We also spent time at the Dog Shelter (known as Sadie’s Place), the Johns Creek Cat Adoption Center, and the Johns Creek Thrift Store.

We helped Furkids with general caretaking tasks, such as cleaning cages, feeding, trimming nails, walking the dogs, and socializing the cats. We also assisted with event setup and in the thrift store, both of which are important sources of revenue for Furkids, helping them rescue and care for more animals in need.

Our time at Furkids showed the value of community involvement and how dedicated volunteers can positively impact the lives of animals.
A huge shoutout and thank you to for hosting us and making us feel welcome!
