We are for ALL people but want to give latinos a space to feel welcomed and safe at protests.

Please come stand shoulder to shoulder with us as we speak out against the kidnapping of Latinos and as we yell HANDS OFF of our constitutional rights!

" 50501 Orlando Latinos is proud to announce our endorsement of Quinnie Perez for Orange County Soil & Water Conservation District, Seat 1.

Quinnie is an agricultural professional with over 10 years of community advocacy, including legislative and electoral involvement throughout Orange County and the state of Florida.

She is the daughter of immigrant agricultural workers, and the struggles they faced later influenced her activism. The environmental and agricultural landscape of North Central Florida shaped Quinnie’s upbringing and advocacy for the environment.

Quinnie is committed to advocating for immigrant farmworkers, being a great steward for the environment, and promoting smart growth within our communities.

We need unapologetic public servants like Quinnie to advocate for our most marginalized in Orange County."

We at 50501 Orlando Latinos condemn this grave act against humanity. We demand accountability from the state of Florida, from Governor Ron DeSantis, and from ICE.

Let’s be Wendy’s voice. Let’s be Orlin’s voice. This happened right here in Florida, and we cannot stay silent. We are demanding the return of this baby’s body to his mother so she can give her child a proper burial with dignity and love.

ICE made a devastating choice when they ignored a mother begging to be deported alongside her son. The blame cannot be placed on her when she pleaded to stay with her child. Their decision led to the death of a beautiful baby, and there must be accountability.

There is no such thing as “other people’s children.” This is a human tragedy, and we must stand together as a community to demand justice.

Please call Governor Ron DeSantis and demand accountability and the immediate return of this baby to his mother:

EMERGENCY SUPPORT NEEDED FOR TWO IMMIGRANT FAMILIES 🚨

This Thursday at the 50501 Progress Hub, we will be collecting emergency donations for two mothers in our immigrant community who urgently need support right now.

📍 First Unitarian Church of Orlando
1901 E Robinson St
🕕 6 PM – 8 PM

One mother is caring for her baby girl after her husband self-deported just three months ago. The baby is on a special formula, Similac 360 Total Care, and wears size 3 diapers. The family is also in need of wipes, baby clothes, rice, beans, maseca, and help paying their phone bill.

The second mother is now alone caring for two small children after her 18-year-old son was detained while riding as a passenger in a car on his birthday. The husband self deported 3 months ago. She is trying to hold everything together while facing rent and food insecurity.

These are not just stories — these are real families in our community experiencing fear, separation, and hardship right now. Any donation, no matter how small, can make a difference.

Please come out, share this post, and help us show these families that they are not alone. ❤️

We need your help! We waited until this week to ask for perishable donations. You can drop off at this week's hub on Thursday between 6 and 8 PM at the first Unitarian Church of Orlando. Come hang out with us and have some fun and bring some cookies and cupcakes with you. We are asking for cupcakes, cookies, fruit & veggies to make fruit and veggie trays with and Lemonade mix as well.
This is for the Halloween party for immigrant children since it is not safe for them to go trick-or-treating. We have a total of 125 children to buy some goodies for. Those who have shopped the Amazon wish list or donated at Thursday's 50501 progress hub, we thank you from the bottom of our hearts. It truly does take a village.!
