Orlando Main Streets welcomes Judimar Pesante as the new Executive Director of Gateway District. As the largest of the city’s 12 Main Street districts, Gateway needs strong, community-focused leadership—and Judimar is a natural fit after more than three years on its board.

A communications and marketing professional, Judimar began her career in radio at 19 and has hosted Orlando’s Cuenta Conmigo radio show for more than 11 years. She also founded My Community Access, connecting residents to vital resources and support. With deep roots in the Semoran community, she brings both experience and passion to this role. Join us in welcoming and congratulating her on this new chapter. 💚

Breaking News: Small Business Week is here ✨

For more than 60 years, Small Business Week has been dedicated to celebrating the dreamers, doers, and risk-takers behind every storefront. Show them some love this week and—year-round—by shopping small and supporting local.

Behind every business door is a dream, a risk, and a leap of faith. The dreamers at Drunken Monkey are living proof.

It may be National Small Business Week, but in Orlando we support our city's small businesses year round. Locally-owned businesses, like Drunken Monkey Coffee Bar in The Milk District, play a big role in making Orlando a more vibrant and welcoming place to live.

One of Orlando’s most unique coffee spots, Drunken Monkey opened in 2007. When original owners Larry Hardin and Maureen Hawthorne were ready to retire a few years ago, there was no question would take over: long-time baristas Leslie Viale and Erica Brown.

They officially became the new owners last year and are committed to keeping Drunken Monkey just as customers and employees like it, while making small changes – like its new purple exterior – to help showcase their personalities. Leslie, Erica and Drunken Monkey are a great showcase of how small business owners and their employees share their passion and love for Orlando to strengthen our Main Street Districts and our entire community.

Outta The APGD to get new lenses at and had to stop into for something fun while there. Every Main Street director has favorite local businesses outside their own districts and these are two of mine. 💚

Love local. Support small biz. 🙂✨🥳
