The federal government’s proposed changes to Head Start will significantly hurt our low-income families by stripping program funding, child healthcare services and dual-language learning.

Congratulations to a handful of our local schools for receiving Illinois Student Assistance Commission’s Recognition of Excellence!

College becomes more affordable and accessible for young adults when schools take an active, hands-on role in guiding students through the financial aid process.

That’s why last year, I voted to pass House Bills 3096 and 3097, now law, ensuring every Illinois high school has a FAFSA point of contact available for students to seek support during their school day.

⭐️Students in all Illinois high schools can take advantage of this now. FAFSA applications for the 2027-28 school year are OPEN! ⭐️

STEAM gives kids of all ages a creative outlet to invent, discover and learn. Thank you to NIU for having me, and to the amazing students who shared their work and curiosity with all of us!
