Secret Spirit Day Success!

To celebrate Mr. Gregory's birthday, students came dressed in some of his favorite things, including sports team apparel, polo shirts, and cowboy boots.

The surprise was a huge hit and a wonderful way to show our appreciation for the person who helps keep our school safe every day. Happy Birthday, Mr. Gregory! We hope you enjoyed your special day!

On October 1, we hosted our first-ever Bobcat Family Day, a schoolwide assembly designed to celebrate student achievement, strengthen our school community, and reinforce what it means to be a Bobcat. During the event, students recognized our September Students of the Month, participated in grade-level challenges, and learned more about the results of our recent school climate survey. Together, we celebrated our strengths as a school while discussing ways we can continue to grow, particularly in showing respect for one another and making learning more engaging and meaningful.

A special thank you goes to the members of our Principal's Advisory Team, who helped organize the event, seat students, and serve as hosts throughout the assembly. Their leadership helped make this inaugural Bobcat Family Day a wonderful success. We look forward to continuing this monthly tradition as we celebrate our students, build community, and work together to make Northern an even better place to learn and grow.

**🎉 Congratulations, Mrs. Lynsie Curtis! 🎉**

We are proud to celebrate Mrs. Lynsie Curtis, who will represent Calvert County as the 2026–2027 SMECO Middle School Mathematics Outstanding Teacher of the Year Award recipient!

Mrs. Curtis is an exceptional educator whose passion for mathematics, commitment to student success, and dedication to supporting her colleagues make a lasting impact every day. We are incredibly fortunate to have her as both a teacher and our Professional Learning Coordinator at Northern Middle School.

In true Mrs. Curtis fashion, she learned of her nomination while leading and facilitating our staff’s very first Bobcat Showcase—a reflection of the leadership, collaboration, and excellence she brings to our school community.

Congratulations, Mrs. Curtis, on this well-deserved honor! Your Northern Middle Bobcat family is proud of you and grateful for all you do. 🐾
