When someone shares that they have experienced violence, support can begin with listening, believing them and respecting their choices. You do not need to have every answer to offer care.

Archuleta County Public Health partners with Rise Above Violence to connect people affected by domestic violence with free, confidential advocacy, information and referrals. Its 24-hour hotline is available at 970-264-9075.

For people who have experienced sexual assault, ACPHD offers medical forensic exams through its Forensic Nurse Examiner. Call 970-585-9028 to speak with a forensic nurse, ask about availability or schedule an appointment. An exam does not require a report to law enforcement.

Whether you are seeking support for yourself or someone you care about, these resources are here to help.
