Bob, faithful garden keeper & package deliver extraordinaire, has this to say about the garden today: "I was out to the garden this morning, pruned a few of the tomatoes, flowers on most of the plants, the cucumbers are starting to branch out. Did not see any visitors, but there is still time."

Bob, our faithful Garden Watering Volunteer, has injured (nearly cut it off- ouch!) his finger! Oh no! But this means someone else needs to water the garden the next few, HOT days. Can someone go after work today and tomorrow morning?? Each time would need at least an hour since it’s pretty parched. Please reply and let me know.

From Team Ellen and Aaron: filled the bag you gave us with swiss chard, kale, collards and some basil, and delivered it to Dawn Fry on the way back to work! There are a lot of bug bites on the greens--especially the collards. We can see the bugs--small black bugs with 4 tan spots on each. The eggplant leaves are being eaten up too.

From Team Karen & Dawn: Not much is really ready to harvest except the chard and kale, perhaps some of the basil... There are [collards], too. The jalepeno peppers have about 5 two-inch peppers developing, the squash is flowered and coming along, as are the tomato plants, which have some green tomatoes developing. Some green beans are growing. The yarrow plant is getting big.

Dawn Fry is researching where we might be able to donate some of our crops. In the meantime, take what is ready and enjoy!
