When the storm passes, getting the power back on safely will be a top priority! ⚡

I spoke with David from FPL about what residents should know before and after the hurricane.

A few important reminders: Stay clear of downed power lines, avoid last-minute tree trimming, and secure anything outside that could become airborne.

FPL crews are staged and ready to respond as soon as conditions are safe, with hospitals and other critical infrastructure prioritized during restoration.

I’m grateful for the teamwork between FPL and our Emergency Operations Center as we work around the clock to keep our community safe.

Stay safe, Escambia County!

🚨 Coastal Residents: Please Take Action Now!
With storm surge expected to reach up to 7 feet, conditions along our coastline could become dangerous quickly.

If you're in evacuation Zone A or B, including Pensacola Beach, please make arrangements to get somewhere safe.

⚠️ Pensacola Beach residents: Water and sewer services are scheduled to shut off Friday at 3 PM. Don't wait until services are unavailable to make your plans.

Your safety is the priority. Take evacuation orders seriously and give yourself plenty of time to leave.

Pensacola Beach updates! 🌴🌊

Commissioner Ashlee Hofberger shares the latest on what’s happening and what’s next:

🚗 Gateway Project: Construction was paused for the busy summer season to minimize traffic disruptions. After Labor Day, work will resume with removal of the toll booth and installation of the new plate-reading system. Completion is expected by the end of fall.

🚲 Traffic Management: The study has been extended through November to gather more data and look at ways to improve traffic flow, pedestrian and bike safety, and future parking.

🌿 Beautification: More improvements are planned, but they’ll follow the traffic study so the work can be done right the first time.

Working toward a safer, smoother and more beautiful Pensacola Beach!

It was an honor to join GE Vernova in recognizing 25 years of manufacturing excellence and impact right here in Northwest Florida! Since 2001, the Pensacola team has helped strengthen our local economy, support thousands of jobs, and build a workforce that continues to make Escambia County proud. I was grateful to present this proclamation and celebrate the dedicated employees who have made this incredible milestone possible. Congratulations to the entire GE Vernova team on 25 years! 💙👏

Addressing homelessness takes partnership, collaboration, and a shared commitment to solutions. 🤝

I recently spoke with Pensacola City Councilwoman Allison Patton about the upcoming funding application for Opening Doors of Northwest Florida and the importance of community support in continuing the progress being made to help our unhoused neighbors.

Through stronger leadership, strategic planning, and expanded outreach efforts, Opening Doors is helping more people find stable housing and access the resources they need. I’m proud to support a letter of support for this important funding opportunity and look forward to seeing that momentum continue.

Homelessness isn’t a city issue or a county issue—it’s a community issue, and it takes all of us working together to create lasting solutions. 💙
