NORTH PENN RESPONDS TO WILLIAM PENN INN FIRE

Friday, North Penn Volunteer Fire Company responded to a building fire at the historic William Penn Inn. Crews encountered fire involving the ductwork, extending from the first floor through the roof.

The bulk of the fire was quickly knocked down, but extensive overhaul operations were required to check for hidden fire and prevent further extension. Companies operated on scene for approximately three hours.

Thanks to the aggressive efforts and coordinated work of all responding companies, firefighters were able to prevent significant damage to this historic 300-plus-year-old building.

Outstanding work by all companies on scene!

The North Penn Volunteer Fire Company, along with several surrounding agencies, recently celebrated a significant milestone. Earlier this summer, QRS Captain Nathan Ameel, in collaboration with the Upper Gwynedd Fire Department, Upper Gwynedd Police Department, Second Alarmers Rescue Squad, and VMSC Emergency Medical Services, successfully performed life-saving CPR on a patient. Following the intervention, the patient made a full recovery.

Captain Ameel and the entire team involved in this successful resuscitation were formally recognized by The Upper Gwynedd Township Board of Commisioners for their dedication and professionalism. This outcome underscores the vital importance of multi-agency cooperation in providing patients with a second chance at life.
