Share Your Input on the Delaware River Basin’s Water Resources

The Delaware River Basin Commission (DRBC) is developing a Water Resources Resilience Plan to help the region better understand and prepare for climate and other hazards, such as flooding and drought, that could affect our water resources.

DRBC is asking residents throughout the Delaware River Basin to complete a brief survey about their awareness and concerns regarding potential threats to water resources.

The survey takes approximately three minutes to complete, and your input will help inform DRBC’s planning and efforts to build a more resilient Delaware River Basin.

The Briar Bush Nature Center reflects the work of many people, including residents, organizational partners and government leaders. On Saturday, Senator Art Haywood and I are hosting a Free Community Paper Shredding Event from 10am-1pm at Copper Beech Elementary School.

Please note: No binders, large metal clips or other non-paper items allowed in the shred machine.

October 7th was a day of unimaginable evil with more than 1,200 people murdered and 251 taken hostage by Hamas, many of which never made it home alive.

There must be zero tolerance for celebrating acts of terrorism or targeting Jewish people all over the world with hatred or violence.

We can debate policies and politics, but as human beings, we must never excuse the events of the deadliest day for the Jewish people since the Holocaust.

May their memories be a blessing and may we never forget.

I am outraged by the discovery of antisemitic (swastikas) and racist (“N-word”) graffiti on the Glenside Weldon playground overnight. It is deeply disturbing to know that this kind of hateful conduct happened right here in our own backyard and was directed specifically at our Black and Jewish neighbors.

There is absolutely nothing harmless or acceptable about hate speech, particularly when it targets people based on their race, religion, or identity. Hate can never be normalized or allowed to become part of the fabric of our community.

To my friends and family most affected by this act of hate, I am so sorry you are waking up to this news. To those in the “Friends of Glenside Weldon” committee and the entire community, I know how hard you worked on this playground rebuild and I can only imagine how personal this vandalism must be for you too. I will be making myself available to help in any way that I am able as your state representative and as your neighbor.

The Abington Township Police Department is investigating antisemitic and anti-Black offensive remarks and spray-painted graffiti found throughout the Weldon playground.

We take these incidents seriously. We are asking anyone who may have information regarding the incident or those responsible to please contact the Abington Township Police Department at 267-536-1100.

We stand together as an Abington Township community, alongside our Board of Commissioners and the Abington Human Relations Commission. There is no place for hate in our community. We stand united with our Jewish and Black communities, who were targeted by these acts.
