This page is public, and anyone can join! THE ANNUAL WILLO HOME TOUR
Explore the history of your city and discover some hidden gems along the way. Every year, the Willo Neighborhood Association organizes a Historic Home Tour. The WNA is dedicated to building a stronger community and a more vital city by preserving, maintaining, protecting, and improving the Willo Historic Neighborhood. Since its
inception in the late 1980s, the Willo Home Tour has been the neighborhood's premier event and single source of income. Willo programs include the production of our monthly magazine, Inside Willo; Maintenance of our website, WILLOPHX.COM; Annual Holiday Luminaria; Kids Club; Block Watch; and preserving the historic integrity of Willo. All our committees are run and staffed by volunteers; we have no paid staff! This year, the Willo Neighborhood Association Historic Home Tour will offer an exciting opportunity to travel back in time to explore 14 beautifully restored examples of residential architecture from the 1920s to the 1950s. These homes represent a variety of styles and eras, beautiful gardens, and a historic firehouse. Whether you're looking for entertainment, ideas and inspiration, or just curious and want to learn more about Phoenix's past, this visit is a must. Your visit to Willo will be a day full of entertainment and activities for everyone. In addition to the tour, there will be a street fair with more than 100 local vendors, an antique car show, children's activities, a variety of food trucks, a bar hosted by Little O's, and entertainment by the Brian Chartrand Trio. Willo was once the epitome of suburbia – a collection of subdivisions on the outskirts of the small but thriving Phoenix metropolis. This charming neighborhood sits between 1st and 7th Avenues, north of McDowell Road and South of Thomas Road. It features a variety of architectural styles, including Bungalow, Tudor Revival, Greek Revival, American Colonial, Pueblo Revival, and Ranches. Twenty-two separate subdivisions were platted and developed in Willo by various entrepreneurs from the turn of the century up to the beginning of World War II. The city's tremendous growth resulted in the encroachment of commercial development on what were once quiet suburbs. Eventually, with the growth of Phoenix over the last century, the individual subdivisions were bypassed, and the area blended into one cohesive whole. In the 1980s, residents of Willo successfully lobbied for status as a special conservation district, earning historic status and assuring that this beautiful part of Phoenix's history will be preserved for the enjoyment of future generations. Today, Willo represents the best in downtown living. Centrally located in the heart of Phoenix, Willo is at the core of the Valley's freeway and public transportation networks and is minutes away from Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport. It is also close to multiple arts, culture, music, and sports destinations. There are many reasons the Willo Historic District is a desirable place to live. The Willo Home Tour highlights all the wonderful qualities of our neighborhood. You will get to meet the homeowners of the homes on tour as well as many of our neighbors who are volunteering throughout the day. Ollie The Trolley will continually run throughout the day. You are welcome to hop on and off at your convenience. Parking is available at the 2020 N Central Avenue parking garage or any available spot within our neighborhood. Tickets are available on WILLOPHX.COM or at the ticket booth located on 3rd Avenue between Monte Vista & Holly on the day of Tour. Kids 12 and under attend for free. Please visit WILLOPHX.COM and the Willo Neighborhood Events page for news and updates on the tour.

We support the protection of the Willo Historic District and its unique character per the Willo Conservation Plan. We believe the neighborhood should keep its single-family zoning and not be subdivided to build townhomes, duplexes, tri-plexes, and four-plexes. We support following the City of Phoenix's Historic Preservation guidelines when new buildings, such as ADUs, are constructed in Willo.
