Roosevelt School District was honored to receive a generous donation from Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated® during its Far Western Regional Conference. Superintendent Dr. Dani Portillo and Deputy Superintendent Dr. Anna Battle were there to celebrate this amazing moment alongside AKA leaders.
Students also received affirmation bookmarks written by members of Alpha Kappa Alpha to boost confidence and spark a lifelong love of reading. 💚📖

Today we’re celebrating Mr. Lopez from Ed and Verma Pastor School! 🎶✨
Mr. Lopez is a dedicated leader who brings passion, commitment, and positivity to his campus each and every day.
Fun facts: You may have known that Mr. Lopez was the band teacher at Pastor prior to becoming an assistant principal. 🎺 Did you also know his passion for music earned him the prestigious Yale Distinguished Music Educator Award? 🎓 He also currently serves as the District Music Content Lead—all while being an incredible assistant principal and leader on campus!
