Arizona woman shot in head during Las Vegas shooting throws first pitch at Cubs' game A woman who miraculously survived the Las Vegas shooting threw out the first pitch at a Chicago Cubs’ spring training game.

Amazing progress from an amazing woman! Her family and friends have been by her side and I think we all can agree she is a strong and inspiring person.

Las Vegas massacre survivor who was shot in head is leaving hospital A 30-year old mother whom doctors didn’t think would survive after she was shot in the head during the Las Vegas shooting rampage last October is now leaving the hospital. Doctors call her recovery “nothing short of miraculous.” NBC’s Joe Fryer reports for TODAY.

For those of you who may not be aware, good friends of ours Jovanna and Frank Calzadillas were attending a country music concert in Las Vegas to reconnect after Frank’s return from a six-month deployment. Tragically, the unimaginable happened and Jovanna was struck in the head by a bullet. Frank is a 161st ARW Security Forces member as well as local police officer. Jovanna and Frank have two beautiful young children and their future was very uncertain for some time.

Jovanna has made amazing strides in her recovery and will be returning home very soon! Miraculously, Jovanna’s memory and speech are crisp and clear, she undergoes hours of intense physical therapy and pushes herself to new limits each day. Jovanna is currently unable to walk without assistance and has not regained full use of her right arm.

A press conference featuring Jovanna and her amazing story will be aired live next Wednesday, 24 January between 11am and 12pm on local channels. Jovanna will be in attendance and meeting with the press so stay tuned!

Jovanna and Frank live in a two-story house and adjustments will need to be made and they will likely need to purchase a different vehicle. Many have asked what can be done to help.

A Benefit Golf Tournament will be held Saturday February 3, 2018 at the Hayden Municipal Golf Course (South of the valley near Tucson, AZ). You do not need to be a golfer to participate and there will be many activities throughout the day. If you are unable to attend and would like to support raffle prizes will gladly be accepted.

There will also be a raffle for Kenny Chesney "Trip Around the Sun Concert" Tickets - Floor Seats, 16th Row! The concert will be Saturday, June 23, 2018. The cost of the raffle tickets is $20 per ticket and will secure your raffle entry for two concert tickets and various other prizes. There is no limit on how many raffle tickets can be purchased and winners do not need to be present to win.

Jovanna will be coming home at the end of the month. Jovanna is a big Kenny Chesney fan and will not be attending his concert this year but she wanted someone to go in her place. She wants to raffle these Kenny Chesney floor seats. This will help pay with making home adjustments due to jovanna having a two story house. Jovanna can not walk and cannot use her right arm and we will need to make a lot of home adjustments.

They are $20 a ticket and the total value for the Kenny Chesney tickets are $318.
