Last night (November 2nd, 2021) around 11:00 pm NBPD officers were conducting routine shift changing paperwork as the night turn officers were logging on for their shift. During this time, 3 apparent gun shots went off within close proximity to the building . All officers within the building immediately put on their gear and began searching the nearby area. Within approximately 2 minutes , Officers located a male suffering from an apparent gun shot wound in the intersection of Bell avenue and Anderson street. Officers on scene administered emergency first aid. EMS arrived and declared the male deceased on scene. Allegheny County Homicide Division was requested to the scene.

On August 4th 2021 at approximately 8:43pm , North Braddock Police noticed a vehicle on Ridge Avenue operating with no headlights on. Officers conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle, and identified the 20 year old driver. The male was found to be in possession of a small amount of Ma*****na, however became argumentative with officers on scene and requested a "search warrant" for anything further.
About 1 hour later, officers forwarded the application for a search warrant and were granted a search and seizure warrant for the suspects vehicle.
Seized from the vehicles center console was a 9mm pistol that was reported stolen out of Dravosburg.
The suspect has a history of fi****ms and drug violations in the last 5 years dating back to juvenile allegations.
The male was sent to Allegheny County Jail on numerous fi****ms charges as well as traffic infractions.

On the afternoon of 7/28/21 , North Braddock Police noticed a vehicle driving down the wrong side of the road. As officers attempted to stop the vehicle, the driver nearly collided with a marked police unit. Officers identified the driver and were made aware that he had arrest warrants out of Ross Twp PD. Search incident to his arrest, officers located 2 bricks ( approximately 100 bags ) of he**in in his pants pocket.
After the suspect was secured, officers had the vehicle towed back to NBPD and applied for a search warrant. The warrant was granted and the subsequent search of the vehicle yielded 2 digital scales, approximately $1885 US Dollars. 3 bags of crack co***ne, a 9mm pistol, a pill bottle containing suspected oxycodone, and approximately 200 clear plastic bags for packaging narcotics.
The male ( who was currently on parole ) was charged with several fi****ms and drug violations. The suspect is to be taken to Allegheny County Jail for processing.

Throughout this week, officers conducted an interdiction detail which focused on the areas that the department has received complaints about. There have been several seizures in this last week. We have received numerous complaints from anonymous residents about drug activity throughout our neighborhood. Those complaints were heard and through investigation, North Braddock Police Department was able to seize the following items. These items include numerous packages of ma*****na, he**in, co***ne, as well as money and scales used to weigh the suspected narcotics. We listened! If you have any complaints about suspected drug activity, please report it to the North Braddock Police Department at 412 351-4900 or call 911 and report the incidents ananoumously. NBPD is aware that during the freezing weather, there are many children who are out in the elements without a coat. That is why NBPD requested and was chosen as a recipient for the "operation warm" grant. NBPD received many coats in children's sizes from 2T to 14-16.
Anybody who is interested in claiming a coat for their child(ren) or for a loved one, can do so by making an appointment.

On 2/12/21 at 1233 AM, NBPD officers were dispatched to a domestic disturbance involving 2 males and a female. One male suffering from a head injury. During this incident, officers observed several large bags of ma*****na in plain view as well as packaging material and digital scales. Officers obtained written consent from the home owner to search the rest of the residence and the 3 parties were detained and taken to NBPD for questioning. NBPD recovered 7 large bags of ma*****na, an "AK47" Style rifle, as well as other drug packaging and manufacturing materials, and $560 in US Currency. Also seized were 2 NY state license plates that were reported stolen.
After the investigation and interview of the parties involved. Officers kept 1 male in custody and he was transported to Allegheny County Jail on numerous charges.

On 2/10/21 at around 1:22AM NBPD officers were patrolling in the area of Braddock Avenue when they observed a vehicle with burnt out rear lights. Officers initiated a traffic stop on vehicle and had realized the driver did not have a valid drivers license. A pat down of the male was conducted and officers recovered about 1 ounce of ma*****na and a small amount of suspected ecstasy.

On 2/8/2021 @ 7:00pm, NBPD officers conducted a traffic stop for a burnt out headlight. After identifying all the occupants of the vehicle, it was determined that no person in the vehicle had a valid driver's license. NBPD recovered 2 small bags of ma*****na from a passenger and the driver. The 19 year old passenger was also found to be in possession of a .22 caliber pistol. The suspect was taken to Allegheny County Jail on numerous fi****ms and drug charges

On 2/8/2021 at 455pm. NBPD officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for a burnt out tail light. Officers identified the operator and had realized his drivers license had been suspended. Officers seized approximately 55 grams of ma*****na from the vehicle.

PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT: Due to the inclimate weather, it is common practice for those to "warm up" their cars in the morning.
North Braddock and surrounding areas have seen a rash of vehicles stolen in the early morning hours because they are left running with the keys inside of them.
We at NBPD wish to encourage residents to keep a watchful eye on their vehicles if they are left idling , or use remote start if your vehicle is equipped, in order to limit the chances of YOUR vehicle being targeted!

NBPD officers were doing routine traffic patrol near Sixth Street . During this time officers observed a Chevrolet sedan with no inspection and emissions stickers displayed. Officers ran the vehicles information, which stated that the plate should have been affixed to a Mazda sedan. The operator failed to yield, leading officers to follow the recklessly driving vehicle. After failure to stop at several stop signs. The vehicle was eventually stopped on Camp Avenue in Braddock. As officers detained the driver, a loaded firearm and a small pouch containing 36 glassine bags of he**in was in plain view on the driver's side door and floor board. The male was taken into custody, and transported to Allegheny County Jail on several firearm and drug violations.
