The Eastern Regional Mon Valley Police Department is a newly charted regional police
department in Allegheny County, Pennsylvania. It anticipates commencing public safety and law enforcement operations on January 1, 2024.
The organization serves the municipalities of East Pittsburgh Borough, North Braddock Borough, and Rankin Borough, an area of just under 3 square miles and a population of approximately 8,143.
The Eastern Regional Mon Valley Police Commission are actively pursuing the addition of member municipalities to the service area.
The Eastern Regional Mon Valley Police Commission invites qualified candidates who embrace professional, career and civic minded ideology, to join the ranks of the newest regional police department in the Commonwealth.
The Police Commission is dedicated to a 21st century policing model that is focused on delivering professional, community-oriented police services to the client municipalities it serves.
The Department is seeking police officer candidates who are Act 120 certified and who have a demonstrated record of professionalism and excellent character.
To that end, the Eastern Regional Mon Valley Police Commission is offering a starting salary of $50,000.00 with a signing bonus of $5,000.00, an excellent fringe benefit package, training, and career-development opportunities.
The Police Commission is dedicated to investing in its police personnel, to support
them to accomplish the department’s solemn mission.
Applicants must meet the following minimum requirements:
• Be at least 21 at time of appointment,
• Possess a High School Diploma or GED equivalent,
• Be a United States Citizen,
• Possess a valid Pennsylvania or other state Driver’s License with no recent revocations or
suspensions,
• Meet or exceed all physical, mental fitness, and Act 57 standards established by the
Municipal Police Officers Education and Training Commission (MPOETC),
• Able to perform all duties and functions required of a police officer as specified by
MPOETC.
The competitive employment application and selection process will include:
• Submission of an application and resume by September 26, 2023, at 9:00 a.m.,
• Participate in a Written Examination, scheduled for 9/30/2023 at 9:00 a.m.

• Interview before the Oral Assessment Panel,
• Physical Agility,
• Polygraph Examination,
• Extensive pre-employment investigation,
• Medical examination and drug testing for present or recent use
