This morning I had the opportunity to visit Red Lantern Bike Shop in Turtle Creek. Red Lantern is a great community asset that provides free bicycles to children and adult bikes at low cost. They also operate a discount thrift shop at their location. I greatly appreciated the tour and hearing about all they do to give back to our communities.

At Monday nights Gateway School District school board meeting I had the honor of presenting state citations to Dr. Jennifer Hoffner and School Board member Val Warning. Dr. Hoffner and Ms. Warning helped to create a backpack food program to support children facing food insecurity outside of school hours. They additionally assisted with the development of a monthly drive-through food pantry which most recently served nearly 1,000 cars.
I was joined by Monroeville Mayor Dennis Biondo in honoring Dr. Hoffner and Ms. Warning.
