Allegheny County Economic Development (ACED) is currently soliciting pre-applications for construction-related projects for its 2024 Community Block Grant Program. Applicants seeking funds for public improvement projects must complete this process so that ACED may verify project eligibility and service area before submission of the full application.
Public improvement projects may include sewer and water, street construction, building improvements, sidewalks, catch basins, demolition, and ADA improvements. To be considered for the full application phase, pre-applications for construction projects must be submitted in the application portal before end of business on Friday, September 15.
Pre-applications and applications are submitted through ACED’s application portal at https://funding.alleghenycounty.us/. Applicants who have not accessed the portal before must create an account and confirm a link in a verification email.
Applicants should thoroughly review pre-application materials to ensure that everything is complete, and all required attachments have been provided.

County Executive Rich Fitzgerald today announced that the nomination period for the Dr. Charles J. Martoni Veterans Service Award is now open. The deadline to nominate veterans for consideration is Wednesday, August 30, 2023.
The Dr. Charles J. Martoni Veterans Service Award was created in 2021 to recognize individuals who have concluded their military service but continue to serve the community in some way. Considerations for the award will include the nominee’s military service, outstanding leadership, and contributions to the veteran community as well as the community at-large. The award was previously awarded to Air Force Veteran Nathan Mallory in 2022, and Dr. Charles Martoni, posthumously, in 2021.
Individuals wishing to submit a nomination have several options available to them, all of which are available on the Veterans Service Award page of the Veterans Services website: https://www.alleghenycounty.us/veterans/veterans-service-award.aspx
