It is with deep regret and mourning that MAD DADS of Minneapolis announces the passing of our President, John Turnipseed. John had been hospitalized for over a month, awaiting a kidney and heart transplant John's body finally gave out and he passed.
John Turnipseed was a legend in the black community of Minneapolis. He was an original member of the Mpls Chapter of MAD DADS and was instrumental in establishing the Fathering Project there. His legacy will be one of the great public servants of Minnesota.
John's last act was to put in place a new Executive Director for MAD DADS of Minneapolis. Jordan Borer Nelson assumed that position just two weeks ago and John was aware of the successful transition. Jordan is a dynamic young man and will lead the organization with great skill and compassion, moving forward.
John loved MAD DADS and was proud to be a part of the National organization.
