Snowy egret in cove behind Big Pine. First time in 25 years we’ve seen one here.
It doesn’t seem like loons enjoy fireworks. Lots of loon cries coming from the nesting site this noisy evening.

Loon report. Day 17. Loons still on nest. Another approx 10 days and there might be chick(s). A giant sign seems to be working to keep people from disturbing the nesting site.
BREAKING NEWS: Loon on nest at little pine island. Go, loons! P.S that means do not disturb, stay far away from Little Pine :)

On November 15, at 3:07 p.m., the boats are all out, the ferry barge dragged onto land, the last canoe pulled ashore. One season over. Ready for skating.
