This page is dedicated to the many lives and stories of the owners and people connected with my 1965 Ford Mustang.
I have always felt an affinity towards the Ford Mustang. It has captured my attention for decades and while I sometimes thought I would outgrow my fascination I have now acknowledged that it has only intensified over the years. Here are the broad strokes for the vehicle itself. She's a 1965 289 v8, 3 Speed with factory installed A/C. The vehicle has been mainly garage-kept and owned by a single fa

Hi Folks, It's been a while since our last post. Things have been pretty busy for us. We are lucky and blessed and have moved in to a new home where our Pony can have it's own space. Everyone including the car is a little more comfortable.
There are a few mechanical updates; the radiator has a significant leak at the rear top edge. I am planning to remove it to take it to a local shop and get an opinion about repair options.
It is our intention to repair rather than replace as many parts as necessary. Hopefully we can resurrect this component and keep her together and original for a little while longer. More details to come...

Owning and maintaining this beautiful mustang is a ton of fun. It has also had a few unforeseen latent effects that were both fun and frustrating. It didn't take long to realize we needed more garage space to keep her safe and accommodate our day to day needs. More details about this issue to come later... Have a great day folks.
Memorial Day belongs to the fallen. Please take a few moments of your day to think about, remember and thank the men and women who fearlessly and selflessly gave their lives to protect the people they were sworn to protect.
The first couple days of March are a bit special to me because I grow a little older and hopefully wiser. This year I thought I would celebrate with a victory lap around town and ended up being towed home, lol. Hope is not lost though... I have a sneaky suspicion the starter needs to be replaced (or rebuilt). More to come...

I remember being stationed at Ft. Hood and walking past many buildings named after heroes. I would often think to myself, I should do some research and learn more about them.
Yesterday was a beautiful day here in North Texas. As I left the house I decided it was too nice to pass up the opportunity for a drive.
Warmed up the mustang and took the long way to work. Stretched a 12 minute commute in to a 90 minute cruise.
At the office finally put a few long term projects to bed and celebrated by leaving a bit early for an encore. All in all; got about three hours of driving time in 75 degree weather.
Got a lot of looks, some honks, a few engine revs from fellow mustang owners and lots of thumbs up from other classic car owners sharing the road.
Had a great day, enjoy your week folks.

Merry Christmas Folks. It's been a great year here in Plano, Texas. I've been good this year and Santa brought us new front and rear shocks. The change is definitely noticeable and will make the mustang ride smoother and safer.
Enjoy your families, pick up the phone and talk to someone you haven't seen in years and remember all of our service-members that also want to be with their loved ones but instead are out in the world doing their best so we can enjoy our freedoms.
Here are a few before and after snapshots of the front side...
H folks, I invite you to take a few minutes to read about a true hero. Danny was a soldier, a leader and overall cool dude. I miss you bud.

Winter has arrived here in North Texas and it has become too cold to take her out on the road. My other concern is moisture. She was painted about 7 years ago and hasn't been driven in the rain ever since.
Driving these older cars in the rain exposes the under carriage and belly of the fenders to moisture they wouldn't normally experience. These spots of water could oxidize and cause issues down the road. Since she has never been in a wreck the body panels are original. In an effort to mitigate risk of damage due to moisture or otherwise; it's safest to wait until warmer (and coincidentally more comfortable) weather.
I've seen a few parades with classic cars this year though... I'd like to participate in something like that with a good purpose. Perhaps next year we will be able to get a few miles in the winter by registering for a community event. If anyone has any local events for good causes; we would like to learn more. Have a great day week everyone... we'll talk more soon.
I've been looking at the front shocks lately. The rubber components have almost completely dry-rotted and their wear and tear is evident on the road.
I've been doing some research in an effort to decide which products to use and what (if any) simultaneous upgrades or maintenance would make sense to perform.
More to come on what maintenance plans we decide to move forward with...
Have a great week everyone.
