Last week, we had the opportunity to be at Plano East connecting with students, sharing resources, and having conversations that matter 💙

Showing up in schools means showing youth that support exists before a crisis point. Whether it’s counseling, housing support, basic needs, or simply a safe place to turn, we want young people to know they are never alone.

Huge thank you to Plano East Senior High School for welcoming us onto campus and helping us continue the conversation around youth support, mental health, and community care ✨

At 17, David had nowhere to go.

What started as homelessness after being asked to leave his parent’s home became a journey toward healing, stability, and independence through City House 💙

Through emergency shelter, counseling, life skills support, and our Transitional Living Program, David was able to graduate high school early, secure a full-time job, and continue building a future he can be proud of.

Stories like his are why we do this work every single day. Youth homelessness is happening right here in North Texas — often quietly, and often unseen. But every young person deserves safety, support, and someone willing to show up for them.

This Mental Health Awareness Month, we’re highlighting the small moments of comfort and connection that can make a big difference for youth navigating crisis and uncertainty.

A recent visit from this sweet pup brought smiles, calm moments, and a little extra joy to the young people in our Street Outreach Program — reminding us all that healing can happen in simple, meaningful ways.

At City House, caring for youth means caring for both immediate needs and emotional wellbeing, too.
