It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of our dear friend and fellow ETGC member, Lynda Wilson.
Lynda passed away shortly after midnight last night. She had recently moved into a nursing home, where she contracted COVID. As her health declined, she was transferred to Parkwest Medical Center, where she received intensive medical care.
Lynda had been part of ETGC since our very first meeting. A former board member, she helped shape and grow our organization and was always willing to lend a hand. Whether it was a class, a glean, or an event, you could almost always count on Lynda being there. She loved ETGC, but even more, she loved the people.
If you knew Lynda, you knew a truly sweet, quiet lady with a lifetime of wisdom and experience. She was part of the heart of our organization, and we will miss her dearly.
While our hearts are sad, we find comfort knowing that heaven was a homecoming Lynda had been looking forward to for many years.
Please keep her family and the friends who loved her in your prayers. Funeral arrangements are still being made, with services likely next week to allow out-of-state family to attend. We will share details as they become available.
We invite you to share a message, favorite memory, or photo of Lynda in the comments. Let’s remember this special lady together.

Good Afternoon Members,

We have checked with Wooden's Apple House regarding our standard order. While they do not have totes of cull apples available this year, they are offering #2 apples at $22 per box.

We are reaching out to gauge membership interest in these $22 boxes. If you are interested, please comment below with your desired quantity so we can determine if we have enough interest to complete a group order. This is NOT a guarantee that we will have a group order; we are just determining interest at this time.

Thank you,
ETGC

🌶️ CHILI COOK-OFF UPDATE! 🌶️

We were looking forward to a fun-filled day of delicious chili, friendly competition, and great company!

Unfortunately, with participation a little lighter than we’d hoped, we’ve made the decision to cancel this weekend’s Chili Cook-Off.

A big thank-you to everyone who showed interest and enthusiasm! ❤️

We love bringing our community together, and while this event didn’t quite come together as planned, we’re looking forward to more opportunities to gather, have fun, and make wonderful memories!

Thank you for your continued support and understanding! 🌶️❤️

We had a very small 2 person glean today… Suzy did a great job with the peppers!

2026 Members… if you could glean a small 30x50 residential garden with mostly spicy peppers, would you be interested?

Produce varieties are as follows:

Jalapeno
Sugar Rush peach (spicy like a jalapeno)
Anaheim chili
Hot Hungarian wax
Serrano
Cayenne long slim
Poblano (small)
Hot cherry peppers (few)
Sweet banana pepper
Ahi Dulce (sweet to mild… many!)
Maybe some… shish*to, pepperoncini, sweet cherry
Some green tomatoes

The garden can handle only 3-5 people and it would have to be Saturday afternoon. Please comment below if you are interested. If more than 5 people reply, we will pull names on Friday at 3 pm. Garden is in Crossville off of 70E between roundabout and Crab Orchard.
