🚨 ACSO PRESS RELEASE: AGE DOES NOT EXEMPT YOU FROM THE LAW! 🚨
88-YEAR-OLD NATCHEZ MAN ARRESTED ON DRUG AND WEAPONS CHARGES
NATCHEZ, MS – October 9, 2026
Age is not a free pass to commit crimes in Adams County!
The Adams County Sheriff’s Office continues to send a clear message: If you are committing crimes in our community and those crimes are reported to us, don’t be surprised when we come knocking at your door!
On Friday, October 9, 2026, agents with the Adams County Sheriff’s Office Special Operations Group (SOG), working alongside the Mississippi Bureau of Narcotics (MBN), executed a search warrant at 16 Beaumont Street in Natchez, Mississippi.
During the operation, agents encountered 88-year-old Prentiss Green inside the residence. A search resulted in the discovery of ma*****na, several digital scales containing white rock residue that tested positive for crack co***ne, and three loaded fi****ms, including two 9mm handguns and a loaded .22-caliber long r***e.
Green was taken into custody and charged with:
* Sale of Crack Co***ne
* Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
* Possession of Ma*****na
* Possession of a Weapon by a Convicted Felon (3 Counts)
Green was transported to the Adams County Jail for processing.
“Let me make something perfectly clear: Crime does not have an age limit, and neither does accountability!
It doesn’t matter if you’re 18, 48, or 88 years old. If you’re involved in criminal activity in Adams County, you are not exempt from being investigated or arrested simply because of your age.
When our citizens report suspected criminal activity, we take those complaints seriously. We will investigate, we will follow the evidence, and when that evidence establishes probable cause, we will take action.
If you’re selling drugs in our neighborhoods, putting illegal weapons on our streets, or contributing to the destruction of our communities, don’t think your age, your address, or how long you’ve lived here will shield you from the law.
Our deputies aren’t checking birth certificates to determine who gets held accountable. We’re enforcing the law!
If you’re committing crimes and we receive credible information about it, we may just come a-knocking. And if the evidence supports an arrest, you may find yourself taking a ride to the Adams County Jail!
I commend our Special Operations Group and the Mississippi Bureau of Narcotics for their continued partnership and commitment to making Adams County safer.
We’re not slowing down. We’re not looking the other way. And we’re certainly not making exceptions based on age!
Let this arrest serve as another reminder that the Adams County Sheriff’s Office is committed to protecting our citizens, responding to their concerns, and holding those who violate our laws accountable.
You can grow old in Adams County, but you cannot grow too old to be held accountable under the law!”
