The Family Partnership Center is a safe place for the youth to enjoy themselves, as they learn, play, create and grow. From free self-defense classes to basketball tournaments , from improvisation to financial literacy workshops, from serious conversations on matters such as gun violence to community back-to-school events.
This is where we are today, but the aim is so much higher.

Open Gym is back at the Family Partnership Center.
Activities include our POWER Basketball Tournament (Poughkeepsie Organizing for Wellness, Emotional Health and Resiliency), in addition to Acting, Arts & Crafts, Non-Contact Boxing, Social Emotional Learning, and Financial Wellness Workshops.
Dinner and Healthy Snacks will be provided.

Congratulations LuCurtis on securing your first 1st round victory .
LuCurtis (pictured above in red) first joined several years ago when his mother wanted him to learn self-defense and a positive outlet for processing and channeling his emotions.
In 2023, when Noel Dancy was preparing for his first amateur fight at the Poughkeepsie High School, Coach KAP allowed ALL the older kids to train for free! One of those kids was LuCurtis who has been training at APJ ever since.
Shoutout and everyone at APJ for pouring into LuCurtis. It’s exciting to watch this young man become great in doing something he loves.
