It was a very nice day, well except the wind. It was great seeing everyone come out to the event.

The members of Croft Corners will also be at this event providing fire prevention education materials along with showing off some of our firefighter equipment.

Our officers will be on site with our Child ID machine and will have some giveaways for the kids. We hope to see you there!

Tonight Department Chief Kangas took the time to swear in the Croft Corners Fire Company Officers for 2026. Congratulations to our officers. A big thank you to Texas Roadhouse of Poughkeepsie for providing us with an amazing dinner.

Nice Job Commissioner Chiumento on clearing out your fire Hydrant now let this be a reminder to everyone else to make sure you clear your fire hydrant. We there is a fire and seconds matter isn't the time for us to have to search for and dig out the hydrant when we have to fight the fire and maybe rescue a trapped person in the house. Thank you.

Members of the Croft Corners Fire Company were able to get in one last visit for Santa to the children in the pediatric ward at Vassar Brothers Medical Center tonight.

Attention Spackenkill community, the Santa Run is still a go for today despite the snow. Santa has a very tight schedule this time of year and to try and find a new day that Santa could make it would be extremely hard. The Town of Poughkeepsie Highway Department has been out doing a great job keeping the roads clean so we hope you can still make it out to see Santa. Please use caution when you do travel out to see us. Reminder we will be at the Nassau School on Nassau Rd at 10am until 1045am and then we will be at Hagan School on Hagan Dr at 11am until 1145am. Today the members of Croft Corners Fire Company along with members of Arlington Professional Firefighters IAFF Local 2393, Fairview Fire District, VA Castle Point Fire Department and Police Department, Town of Poughkeepsie Police Department, City of Poughkeepsie Police Department, NYS Police and other area police helped Operation Santa's S.L.E.D deliver Santa with gifts to the family of NYSP Sergeant Nigel Barnett who was killed in a motorcycle accident in East Fishkill in September of this year. The family lives in the Croft Corners first due response area and we are happy that we could help spread some happiness this holiday season after the tragic loss the family suffered just a few months before Christmas.
