It was an incredible honor to be presented the National Eagle Scout Association Outstanding Eagle Scout Award by the Greater Hudson Valley Council, Scouting America, Scouting America. It was an extra special evening as my son, Liam, a Cub Scout, participated in the Presentation of Colors ๐บ๐ธ Congratulations to all the award recipients and Thank You to the Council! ๐ฅ
Congratulations also goes to Dutchess County Distinguished Citizen, Dutchess County Clerk Brad Kendall who was bestowed this honor at the Council's Distinguished Citizen Dinner. As last year's recipient, it was an honor to present this award to an incredible public servant! โ๏ธ
The National Eagle Scout Association established the NESA Outstanding Eagle Scout Award (NOESA) to commemorate the Boy Scouts of Americaโs 100th Anniversary in 2010. Since its inception, the award has become an important recognition among Eagle Scouts, recognizing their distinction. The award is presented solely to Eagle Scouts who demonstrate remarkable achievements well beyond their Scouting endeavors by excelling in their careers/vocations at local, regional, or national levels. ๐บ๐ธ ๐บ๐ธ ๐บ๐ธ

Congratulations to Dutchess 911 Group 1 on being selected by the Dutchess County EMS Council as the 2026 recipient of the EMS Communications Excellence Award - in recognition of exceptional emergency communications and coordination during a multi-agency incident in the City of Beacon!
Congrats to Supervisor Jim Spiers and the Group 1 team for incredible work! Group 1 will be formally recognized at this week's Dutchess County EMS Council Awards Dinner.
This is just one of many incidents in which our Groups have been recognized for excellence. My personal thanks to our entire Dutchess 911 staff for your professionalism and loyalty to our mission of Public Safety.

This week, County Fire Coordinator Alfonso gave Deputy Commissioner Scofield and I a tour of our new Live Fire Training Structure. In addition to live fire training capabilities, this impressive addition to our fire training grounds features several additional firefighter training props, including forcible entry, bail out, repelling, stand pipe operations, and more. ๐ฅ ๐ฆ ๐
Site work will continue on our campus for the next few weeks. ๐ฅ A Dedication Ceremony and Open House will occur on Saturday, June 20th. Further details will be announced soon. โ๏ธ

PROGRESS continues this morning on our campus as all the parts and pieces of our new Live Fire Training Building have arrived on site and are being assembled.
This impressive training structure should be completely installed by the end of the day on Thursday. There will be additional site work completed over the next few weeks โ๏ธ

Our Emergency Management team was up bright and early on this crisp morning as we again deployed the Mobile Command Unit to support todayโs Hudson Valley Marathon. This popular race is a Boston Marathon qualifier, beginning in Ulster County and traversing the Walkway Over the Hudson, continuing on to the Dutchess County Rail Trail and back ๐โโ๏ธ ๐ ๐โโ๏ธ
With approximately 2,000 runners, the Dutchess County Mobile Command Unit is serving as the eventโs Command Post, responsible for coordination between all agencies involved, including Law Enforcement, Emergency Medical Services, Dutchess 911 and the Race Director โ๏ธ
