October is Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault Awareness Month, a time to remember lives lost, support survivors, and turn awareness into action.
Georgia’s reported statistics are a sobering reminder of the urgency of this issue, including domestic violence-related fatalities and the devastating role fi****ms can play.
What can we do?
* Recognize: Honor lives lost and raise awareness through vigils and education.
* Respond: Engage our communities and learn how to recognize warning signs.
* Refer: Connect survivors with trusted advocates, shelters, and support services.
This week, our Cobb Solicitor General’s Office team prepared dinner for families navigating the challenges of domestic violence and sexual assault. Service does not end when the workday ends. We remain committed to helping survivors move forward with dignity, safety, and respect.
I am grateful to our team for showing up with compassion and purpose.
