Prospect Rural Fire Protection District Prospect RFPD is located in the High Cascades 20 miles from Crater Lake National Park. Established in 1953, we serve the greater Prospect area.

We're an all volunteer fire department located in the old growth forest of southern Oregon.

Two Prospect Volunteers assisted the US Forest Service on Saturday by staining directional posts near the Summit Ridge of Mount Mcloughlin. These posts were place along the summit ridge four years ago (by Prospect Fire Volunteers and Forest Service employees) and have reduced the number of Search and Rescue incidents for folks descending the mountain.

Our fire department was fortunate to have the help of this Prospect Charter School student this morning. He spent the first half of his day moving gravel from the front of station 1 to the back of the building for the construction of a social area for the Volunteers.
