I represent District 5 on the Provo City Council.

I'm hosting a town hall about Memorial Park on May 20 at 7 pm at the Provo City Library, in the Young Special Events Room. In preparation for that, I'm working to gather data to address all of the concerns raised. I'm getting information from Police, Parks & Rec, Public Works (for plumbing issues, lighting, and traffic calming), and the Mayor's Office.

I want us to explore how to address all of the concerns about Memorial Park, including the existing ones that have been brought to our attention, like inadequate lighting and worries about traffic zipping by on the street.

I hope you'll be able to come. If not, I'll be sure that either a recording of the meeting or a summary goes out afterward so that you can see how we are trying to take care of the concerns our residents are raising.

Power Within Child Therapist has been recognised as one of the best businesses in 2025, so they are hosting an open house event to celebrate. We’ll be here at 3325 N University Ave today, Saturday Jan 24 from 12-3. Come check it out. Learn more about how play therapy can help or just play on the pirate ship and eat tacos.

So thankful that I have a healthy body and that I don’t get queasy around needles and blood. I’m grateful that our city hosted a Red Cross blood drive today at the Provo Rec Center so I can give a little bit during this season of giving thanks.

You can drop your Socks for Seniors off at my front porch. The box is unmistakable. Or you can find other ways to get involved here: https://mowsuw.org/socks/

If you don't know my address, text me at 385-219-9804. Thanks!

Just left the Meals on Wheels board meeting today with a donation box! Not sure where I’ll install this, but let me know if you want to donate socks or funds. There’s even an Amazon wishlist! https://mowsuw.org/socks/

I love that our library is such a vital part of our community. There is something for everyone.

After years of wanting one, I finally set up a Little Free Library! I just threw in a fairly random stack of books for now. I’m excited to work on actually curating a flexible collection! And for the winter, I’ll try to keep it stocked with hand warmers and hats.

The election is done! My signs made it through 2 campaigns, and that’s enough. If you have one of my signs, please throw it away. The metal can be reused or recycled. I’m out of town this weekend, but I’ll be rolling through Provo next week looking for stragglers. I do not anticipate needing the signs again in 4 years, and given the wear and tear, I don’t think they would work even if I wanted them. Thank you all again for your support.

The county has counted the ballots. The few that remain to be cured are not enough to change the outcome of the election. Marsha Judkins will be our new mayor. Jeff Whitlock will take George Handley’s seat in District 2. Katrice MacKay remains as a city-wide councilor. And I will continue to represent District 5. We were fortunate to have really good candidates in all of our races. Respect and gratitude to Michelle Kaufusi for her 8 years of service as our mayor. Hannah Petersen and Adam Shin have already dedicated so much time to serving in Provo: I have no doubt but that they’ll continue to do good in our community. And Sam Blackburn did great work to get more of his fellow students engaged. I can’t wait to see what he does next. Thank you all.

Thank you for your literal votes of confidence in me. I will do everything I can to serve you well and honor this trust you’ve given me. Also a huge thank you to Sam Blackburn for running a great race and getting more students registered and voting. Well done. Stay involved: we need you.
