When an application is submitted to the Advance Pueblo committee, what exactly happens? How do we evaluate each prospect, and what questions are we trying to answer?

Our goal is to understand whether a project makes sense for our community and aligns with Pueblo's economic goals.

That means looking at the full picture: the jobs and wages it could bring, capital investment and economic impact, incentives being requested, potential return to the community, and whether Pueblo has the infrastructure and resources to support the project.

A project may look promising on paper, but economic development is about looking deeper.

Does the potential benefit to Pueblo justify the investment? Is the project feasible? And ultimately, is it a good fit for our community?

These are some of the questions we ask and work to answer when evaluating a business prospect.

I-25 is a critical north-south freight corridor connecting Pueblo to markets across Colorado and beyond.

Continued investment in that infrastructure matters for businesses that rely on efficient movement of goods, and a major investment is underway right here in Pueblo.

The $114 million I-25/US 50B Interchange Reconstruction Project includes five new bridges, a new diverging diamond interchange, and improvements designed to increase operational efficiency and provide safer travel for local residents, long-distance travelers, and business and freight operators.

Construction began in December 2024, with completion anticipated in summer 2027.

Pueblo has a story worth telling, and yesterday, we took that story to the Metro Denver Site Selection Conference.

Advance Pueblo was invited to pitch our community to two site selectors in a "Shark Tank" style session, with candid on-the-spot feedback on what resonated and where we could strengthen our message. Their enthusiastic response to what Pueblo has to offer left us even more excited to share our community's story.

Site selectors help companies decide where to locate and expand. Opportunities like this put Pueblo in front of those advisors, build relationships, and help our community become part of the conversation when future business opportunities arise.

We left with valuable feedback, new connections, and plenty of Pueblo pride! Thank you for the invitation, Metro Denver Economic Development Corporation and the opportunity to show what makes our community stand out!
