*ATHLETICS UPDATE & THIS WEEK'S SCHEDULE*
The RSB volleyball team split a pair of matches early last week.
After a 3-0 win against Willapa Valley on Monday, the girls battled Naselle to 5 sets but came out on the losing end.
On Saturday, the girls competed well in a tournament in Adna.
This week, the girls will be busy. Today, they face one of the top 2B teams in the state in Rainier. The girls will then jump back into league play on Tuesday against Ilwaco and Thursday against North Beach.
The girls soccer team went 2-1 on the week with wins over Ilwaco and Forks sandwiched around a loss to Napavine.
Today, the girls will play a huge match at Toutle Lake. The winner will most likely take the 6th and final district spot.
On Wednesday, the girls face Toledo at home for senior night.
The football team took their lumps on Friday in a 57-0 loss to Adna.
This week, the boys will get a chance for payback against PWV.
The boys lost to PWV 20-0 in the first game of the season.
It will also be South Bend's homecoming.
The cross country team hosted a large meet at Riverwoods golf course on Tuesday. Claire Merrin was the top RSB runner with a 9th place finish in a new PR in the girls race.
This week, the runners will compete in the league championship at Ocosta on Thursday.
Junior high fall sports wrapped up last week with both the football team and volleyball teams finishing their seasons.
This week, they start practices for wrestling and girls basketball.
