HEADS UP!

PG&E will be conducting gas line repair work at the intersection of State Route 273 and Ox Yoke Road in Anderson (Shasta County). Operations are currently planned to start on Monday, October 19.

24/7 traffic control will be in effect for up to 15 days. Closures are planned for:
• Southbound turn lane from SR 273 to Ox Yoke Road
• Northbound #2 lane on SR 273 approaching Ox Yoke Road

Traffic control will detour Ox Yoke Road traffic approaching SR 273 and southbound SR 273 traffic approaching Ox Yoke Road. Motorists are advised to add a few minutes to their travel plans for detours during the work.

The U.S. 97 Wildlife Crossing is complete, creating a safer passage for wildlife and helping reduce the risk of wildlife-vehicle collisions.

But our work doesn’t stop here! Caltrans District 2 continues to look for opportunities to improve wildlife connectivity across Northern California, helping animals move safely through their natural habitats while making our roadways safer for everyone.

UPDATE: This work will begin on Wednesday, October 14. Concrete asphalt digout work is planned for the remainder of this week and possibly next, prior to the project going into winter suspension. The remainder of the work will resume next spring.

🚧 ROADWORK AHEAD: SR 70 TOBIN PRESERVATION PROJECT

Caltrans District 2 and contractor American Pavement Systems, Inc. will begin a $2.9 million pavement preservation project on State Route 70 near Tobin in Plumas County.

📍 WHERE: From the Butte/Plumas County line to 2 miles east of Chambers Creek Bridge.

🛠️ WHAT: Crews will apply an asphalt rubber chip seal, complete localized concrete repairs, perform shoulder work, and replace pavement markings.

📅 WHEN: Construction is scheduled to begin Monday, October 12, with completion anticipated by mid-November.

🚦 TRAFFIC IMPACTS: Motorists should expect one-way traffic control and delays of up to 15 minutes, Monday through Friday during daytime hours.

⚠️ PLEASE SLOW DOWN AND DRIVE WITH CAUTION! Follow posted speed limits through the work zone, watch for crews and equipment, and allow extra time to reach your destination.

HEADS UP! Bridge joint assembly replacement work continues on the Antlers Bridge on Interstate 5 near Lakehead (Shasta County). Motorists should plan for continued lane reductions southbound through this weekend. Starting Monday, the work with shift back to northbound lanes, with lane reductions planned through next Saturday (10/17).

Motorists are urged to drive carefully and abide by speed limit reductions in the project area. Travelers should also plan for traffic slowing and possible delays in the area.

TRAFFIC ALERT: U.S. 395 is closed from North Constantia Road to South Constantia Road (Lassen County) due to a two vehicle traffic collision. A detour is in place.
