Highway 82. Opening tomorrow!

Things you need to know. First, local folks please know that our existing Highway 82 (not the “bypass) will become Highway 482. Please remember this if you need 911 assistance. This is the segment from the the west connection around Swamp Datty’s to the east side at Sand Springs connector road. Please be mindful of this.

Tomorrow we expect the road to open shortly after morning commute. So your route to work will likely flow as usual but your travel home will be on the new Highway 82. Anticipate a strong law enforcement presence. We are trying to ensure the safety of everyone.

The speed limit will be 45 mph and will be a construction zone with workers present.

What you will see tomorrow is not the finished product. Much more to do before completion and dress up will not come until the end of the project.

Roads impacted by the ongoing roadwork will be addressed when the project is complete. So hopefully we can see this work in the spring.
