Washoe County Regional Parks and Open Space is inviting community members to participate in the first public workshop for the Lazy 5 Regional Park Master Plan Update on Thursday, June 11, from 5:00pm to 7:00pm.

Whether you're a regular park visitor, have a vision for future amenities, or simply want to be part of the conversation, your input is welcome.

Today's Junior Ranger Adventure Day took place at Galena Creek Regional Park! Ranger Nick and Ranger Todd taught about the Water Cycle and about life in Nevada's streams, rivers, and ponds. Everyone learned to appreciate and how to protect our valuable water. Keep an eye on our 'Calendar of Events' page for future programs!

Western Earwig (Forficula dentata). Did you know?? Unlike most insects that abandon their young, earwig mothers show outstanding parental care. They fiercely guard their eggs from predators and continuously lick them to prevent destructive fungus from growing.
