Today's Trail Trivia question was: The tragic story of the Donner Party is one of the most well-known stories from the California Trail. The Donner Party became stuck in the snow in the Sierra Nevada Mountains for several months in 1846 because of a decision they made much earlier on their journey. What is the name of the cutoff the Donner Party chose to take that set them so far behind schedule?

The answer is the Hastings Cutoff.
