Solarpunk PAC congratulates Xp Lee on winning the special election for Minnesota House District 34B. Voters chose a neighbor and coalition builder who centers clean energy, community care, and practical results for working families.
This campaign took place in a time of grief following the tragic killing of Representative Melissa Hortman and her husband. We honor her legacy of service and extend our respect to her family and community. Xp Lee’s victory reflects that legacy and carries it forward with steadiness and care.
Solarpunk PAC was proud to endorse Xp Lee and invest early in a race that highlights what leadership can look like in the Middle Coast.
“Xp earned this victory by listening, showing up, and laying out a clear plan for clean energy and community care,” said Kyle Kilbourn, co-founder of Solarpunk PAC. “He understands that families need safe water, affordable health care, strong schools, and jobs that do not leave people behind. We were proud to stand with him, and we are excited to see him serve at the Capitol.”
This result affirms Solarpunk PAC’s mission to help communities build power in places that national politics often overlooks. When campaigns are rooted in care and grounded in local needs, voters respond.

Solarpunk PAC is proud to announce its endorsement of Xp Lee for Minnesota House District 34B in the September 16 special election.
This race follows the tragic loss of Representative Melissa Hortman. We extend our condolences to her family and community, and we honor her legacy with the work ahead.
Xp Lee is a former Brooklyn Park City Councilmember and Mayor Pro Tem, and a health equity strategist who brings people together.
His priorities line up with what our communities are asking for: clean energy infrastructure that protects the Mississippi River and local air, accessible health care through MinnesotaCare expansion and lower prescription costs, strong public schools, and an innovation economy that creates good jobs without leaving families behind.
“Xp understands that community care and clean energy are the foundation of a stronger Minnesota,” said Kyle Kilbourn, co-founder of Solarpunk PAC. “He listens, he builds coalitions, and he delivers.”
The special election is on Tuesday, September 16.

Flooding is getting worse in Wisconsin. Recent report confirms the impact of climate change.
“Over the past 45 years Wisconsin has seen a dramatic increase in damage caused by flooding, as the climate has warmed, extreme rains have become more common, and urban development has continued,” the report states. “Increased flooding in turn has resulted in larger payouts on flood insurance claims, as well as increased federal and state payments for disaster recovery. With projections suggesting that continued climate change will further increase the likelihood of extreme rains, federal, state, and local governments will need to deal with the consequences.”

This week, the Trump administration is slashing one of the most powerful clean energy programs of our time – Solar for All – an initiative designed to help low-income families afford solar energy. The administration used working-class families as pawns, canceling programs that would’ve delivered real savings and clean energy—just to score political points. Solarpunk PAC believes that climate justice and energy equity shouldn’t be political. That’s why we’re doubling down – organizing, building, and fighting for clean energy access in Michigan, Wisconsin, and Minnesota.

Representatives say they are cutting waste, but in reality are wasting taxpayer money so they can stay in power. They are gutting services taxpayers depend on, like healthcare and Social Security, just so they can give tax cuts to billionaires.
We expose the worst offenders in our new "Waste, Fraud, & Abuse Scorecard" where we rank how Representatives used taxpayer money for political ads.
