The Richardson East Rotary Club is a service organization espousing "Service above Self"

The Richardson East Rotary Club is a service organization serving Richardson and the RISD. We are a group of businessmen and women who donate time to make our community and world better. Our fundraising efforts have helped many local charities, including the Richardson YMCA, Network for Community Ministries, The Ark House, NYFC, Rotary Dental Clinic, and much more.

Richardson East Rotary was glad to celebrate Hollis Owens, the founder of To Be Like Me, as she passes the torch for its next chapter. As a dedicated fellow Rotarian at our club, Hollis has been a steady leader in our community who built a remarkably unique organization. We truly enjoyed the opportunity to come together and honor her recent achievements.

What a treat to have our own Laurie Garvie present to our Richardson East Rotary Club! She gave us a sneak peek at the upcoming Richardson Symphony Orchestra season. Having "best-of-class" Texas talent right here at the Eisemann Center is a massive win for our community. Their heart for excellence hits all the right notes, proving this local jewel is beneficial to all. You can acquire your season tickets today!

The Rotary Club of Richardson East (RERC) extends a massive "Great Scott!" thank you to everyone who joined our Back to the Future themed Games & Giving fundraiser!

We are beyond grateful to our incredible sponsors, lively guests, and generous auction winners who bid on over 160 unique items. As true People of Action, the energy and donations have directly fueled our commitment to local education through several university scholarships, building on the $64,000 awarded last year to ensure a brighter future for the next generation of leaders.

Your participation also accelerates our signature project: Annie’s Place Pavilion. This vital addition to the Ann Eisemann Inclusive Playground at Cottonwood Park provides a shaded "outdoor classroom" for families of all abilities. By combining scholarship support with this lasting community landmark, we are turning vision into reality. Thank you for proving that when Richardson comes together, we don’t need a DeLorean to create a meaningful, lasting impact!

🎉 Celebration and Scholarships! 🎉

Last Wednesday, our Rotary Club had the honor of awarding scholarships to six exceptional students. With over 100 applicants this year, the competition was fierce, but these six individuals truly captured our hearts. They have officially become club favorites!

The joy on their faces says it all—knowing that our community is coming together to help fund their educational dreams. This life-changing support is only possible because of our annual Games and Gala event. Every ticket sold and every game played directly impacts these bright futures. Thank you for helping us turn hard work into opportunity!

The Richardson East Rotary Club recently enjoyed witnessing the impressive skills of students from International Leadership of Texas, Garland High School. By applying the 4-Way Test and Rotary’s founding principles, these students sharpened their ethical leadership, public speaking, and decision-making abilities.

This program allows them to move beyond the classroom to internalize the essence of Rotary through real-world challenges. We are proud to support these future leaders as they develop the integrity and service-minded focus needed for success. The winner now moves on to compete at the district level.

Big thanks to everyone who spent their afternoon out in Richardson yesterday helping work on our sensory garden! We were right by the all-access playground, keeping things beautiful for the kids and adjacent to your new signature project: Annie's Place https://richardsoneastrotary.com/Stories/annie-s-place

This spot is special because it’s designed for children of all abilities to actually get in there and interact with nature—they’re even encouraged to touch the "Lamb’s Ear" plants and pick the flowers. We’ve focused on hardy, drought-tolerant plants that can handle the Texas heat, and it was great to see some local ducks already making nests in the ornamental grasses.

Extra applause to Ron and Karen Wilson for taking the lead and making sure everything was perfectly coordinated, and thanks to Martin Ortega and the Richardson Parks Department crew for their constant support. It’s always a good day when we can get our hands dirty for the community!

If you are genuine about serving alongside Rotary, now may be the time to solidify your commitment and join.
