Our last post highlighted the impact of our Barb’s Books program. Today, we’re excited to share what Fran’s Bands has accomplished over the years. Nearly 5,500 instruments, totaling $52,000, have been delivered. Unlike books that are given directly to children, these instruments are placed with schools and partner agencies, where they will be used by countless students for years to come.

On behalf of all the budding musicians whose lives will be enriched through music, thank you for supporting us in this meaningful endeavor.

Your contributions continue to put books into the hands of children. Here are just a few of the 1200+ students at Harris County Department of Education .

Over 3,400 books delivered this year and more than 61,000 shared with children over the years is something truly worth celebrating. Our donors, volunteers, and everyone involved have helped put stories, knowledge, and joy into kids’ hands across multiple states.

We were so happy to deliver instruments to another music program - in time for the start of the new year. We thank our donors for helping us to provide new soprano and alto xylophones, glockenspiel and several music stands.

More thanks to our contributors for helping to get these instruments to PreK students! Their teacher, Ms Beekman, was the first recipient of instruments when BCI stated in 2013. She still has those instruments. Thousands of students have been touched by generous donors.

Lives you are changing by supporting us. Harris County Department of Education operates 15 Head Start (3–5 years of age) and five Early Head Start (6–35 months of age) campuses in north and east Harris County. Additionally, students newborn–35 months of age are served through our Early Head Start Child Care Partnerships.

Happy New Year! This Fall and early Winter brought a wave of book and instrument deliveries to schools and agencies! Here are a few pictures from Colorado and Virginia recipients.

What's really inside these boxes and bags? Over 200 books were given to the Avalon Center: working to end domestic and sexual violence thanks to our special donors. Avalon does wonderful work for those who seek their help and we are fortunate to be able to provide books to the families.

One of the biggest changes for children when they start school is learning to be part of a group. For many, the transition from home to school can be confusing. With adorable animal characters and simple text, this picture book explains what school is like in the easiest way possible.
