"We love to do our back to school shopping at Martin's!"
Said a mom from Millington who came down to do some shopping on Wednesday evening.
We let her know even more items would be put out for our Saturday Sale, tomorrow Sept 5!
Saturday sale is the first Saturday of the month, where even more items are available to customers for some seriously budget friendly shopping.
Be sure to come in tomorrow morning from 8am until noon for kids and adult clothing, shoes, toys, books and more!

Healthy food can be affordable, flexible — and delicious! 🥦🍆🌽

We had a great evening at Martin’s House learning how to turn simple, affordable ingredients into healthy meals the whole family can enjoy.
Sponsored by the Caroline County Health Department Maryland, Sherry and Chef David from the Chesapeake Culinary Center shared recipes, cooking tips, and ideas for making the most of foods that are readily available through WIC and SNAP.

And, of course, we got to taste everything! On the menu were sautéed eggplant, pasta and broccoli with a homemade Alfredo sauce, and a colorful bean and corn salad.

One of the best takeaways was that a recipe doesn’t have to be exact. We learned ways to substitute ingredients and create different versions of a meal using what we already have on hand.

Thank you to the Caroline County Health Department, Sherry, Chef David, and everyone who joined us for a fun and delicious evening! ❤️

Pasamos una excelente tarde en Martin’s House aprendiendo a convertir ingredientes sencillos y económicos en comidas saludables que toda la familia puede disfrutar.

Con el patrocinio del Departamento de Salud del Condado de Caroline, Sherry y el Chef David del Chesapeake Culinary Arts Center compartieron recetas, consejos de cocina e ideas para aprovechar al máximo los alimentos que se pueden obtener fácilmente a través de WIC y SNAP.

¡Y, por supuesto, pudimos probar todo! Degustamos berenjena salteada, pasta con brócoli y salsa Alfredo casera, y una colorida ensalada de frijoles y maíz.

Una de las mejores cosas que aprendimos fue que no siempre tenemos que seguir una receta exactamente. Aprendimos cómo sustituir ingredientes y preparar diferentes versiones de una comida usando lo que ya tenemos en casa.

We are honored to be featured in the Star Democrat as we announce the launch of the Treatment & Recovery Access Network project, made possible through an $88,799 grant from the Maryland Office of Overdose Response.

This initiative reflects what we believe has the greatest impact—communities working together. Through partnerships with Mid Shore Restoring Hope in Women and DC Center, Inc., this new project will help individuals experiencing substance use disorders overcome barriers to recovery by providing housing navigation, transportation, peer recovery support, and connections to the services they need to build stable, healthy lives.
No one organization can solve these challenges alone. Lasting change happens through collaboration, and we are grateful for the opportunity to work alongside dedicated partners who share our commitment to strengthening our communities.

A heartfelt thank you to Shore Strategies LLC for inviting us to the Men for Change 16th Annual Community Volunteer Appreciation Banquet.

Today was a meaningful reminder that lasting change happens when people come together with a shared commitment to serving their communities. We are grateful for the opportunity to celebrate the volunteers, organizations, and partners whose compassion and dedication make a difference every day.
