Just did a big refresh of the book box in time for the weekend! The weather is perfect for a walk down Hyde Park Drive.

I’ve recently seen a post going around telling people “how Little Free Libraries work” and instructing readers that if they drop off one book, they can take two home. This is incorrect, for my box at least. You can come and take books even if you don’t have one to trade! Please! People often donate stacks, bags, even boxes of books, so I usually have more than fits in the box at any time. (In fact, Books A Million recently sent me a box of over 80 kids books!) So don’t wait until you have something to trade; just come grab a few and read away!

Thank you to whoever dropped off a very full bag of stickers! I picked out a handful of favorites for myself before putting the bag back in the book box. There’s something for everyone in there!

Thank you to Macmillan Publishers for this copy of Beronda Montgomery’s When Trees Testify. (I may have read it before sharing!) For lovers of history and botany, Montgomery combines her personal family stories and botanical knowledge with Black American history.

The books are out front by the library! Help yourself! There are even some bags to use if you need them.

As surprised as I am to call this a problem, I am completely overrun with books! Between the book box regularly filling up with more titles than it can hold and generous friends dropping off bags and boxes on my front porch, I am running out of room for all of the books I have to share with our neighborhood. Besides what is shown here I have several more stacks that I don’t have the energy to lay out and photograph. There’s a little bit of everything for everyone. Please come by and take whatever you would like!

Please let me know if you see something specific that you would like for me to hold for you. Otherwise, I am going to put all of these out on my sidewalk and front stoop in the morning as long as the weather is nice.
