Maurer Productions OnStage and the newly formed Maurer Theater Works have announced a special co-production partnership for the world premiere of Midnight at the New Dawn. T
he ensemble comedy, written and directed by Robbinsville's own Dan Maurer, opens at Kelsey Theatre on Friday, October 16.
Midnight at the New Dawn is a wickedly funny, warm-hearted comedy set in a New Jersey diner on New Year’s Eve. Four couples arrive at different crossroads in their relationships, with only two hours until midnight to figure out what comes next. Things get even more interesting when they find themselves part of a live-streaming web series called “Truth Be Told,” putting each couple and their relationships in the hot seat. It’s funny, modern, meaningful, and has been described as Neil Simon with a Wi-Fi connection.
"This is the show I've been writing toward for a long time," Maurer said. "It's funny — genuinely funny — but it earns its laughs from real human drama. These are people you know. One of them may even be you.”
Maurer is a director, playwright, and member of the Dramatists Guild. He has co-produced more than twenty productions and directed acclaimed runs of Driving Miss Daisy, Hollywood Arms, and Elton John & Tim Rice’s AIDA at Kelsey Theatre. Along the way, he won multiple NJACT Perry Awards and earned induction into the NJACT Hall of Fame.
Congratulations, Dan and best of luck with then new production!

Show times: Friday, October 16 at 8 p.m.
Saturday, October 17 at 2 p.m. and 8 p.m.

Robbinsville's Ryan and Ethan Kierman have launched "The Helpful Hoodies" - a Bar Mitzvah project to collect 1,500 hooded sweatshirts for families in need through HomeFront NJ.
The boys have already donated 500 sweatshirts, but as the temperature drops, the need keeps growing. With fall here and winter just around the corner, they're asking the Robbinsville community to help make an even bigger impact.
As you go through your closets this fall, please consider donating a new or gently used hoodie of any size. Drop-offs are welcome at the Robbinsville Fire House or email [email protected].

Congratulations to longtime Affordable Housing Liaison and Administrative Agent Gail Pfister, who received the Township's "Key to the City" from Council President Debbie Blakely at the September 24 Council meeting.
Gail retired in December of 2025 after more than two decades, but not before playing an integral role in allowing Robbinsville to meet its legal affordable housing obligations in New Jersey.
Thank you, Gail!

Tribute read by Council President Blakely.

"Tonight is a very special meeting for all of us who have known and worked alongside Gail Pfister, who retired last year after more than 20 years as the Township’s Affordable Housing Liaison and Administrative Agent.
More than just being phenomenal at her very important job – getting qualified applicants into affordable units so they and their families have a roof over their head – Gail’s dedication lasted well beyond her official retirement date as she made herself available to Cheressa DiNatale, her successor, to make sure the town had all the necessary tools to continue this vital work.
Affordable housing does not mean unsafe, unwanted, or out-of-place. It means the people who teach our kids, deliver our packages, protect our homes, serve our country, or who grew up here can actually afford to stay here.
In 2023 with Gail at the helm, Robbinsville earned special recognition from the Supportive Housing Association of New Jersey for our role in supporting and encouraging the development of supportive housing as a “workable model.”
Due in large part to Gail’s efforts, the Township boasts beautifully blended affordable units from Project Freedom, to Foxmoor, to Town Center and all the way to Newtown Village.
She worked with Mayor Fried and Council to identify potential housing opportunities, always looked out for those in need and enabled Robbinsville to truly represent the spirit of supportive housing. She is main reason we can meet our legal affordable housing obligations – mostly with units that blend beautifully into our neighborhoods – and although challenges still await us, Robbinsville remains on very solid footing.
I’ll stop talking now so I can proudly present Gail, on behalf of Mayor Mike Todd and my fellow Council members, this most deserved “Key to the City.”
Thank you for everything you’ve done for our Town, Gail. We miss you."
