Sweater weather means it's time to change up your car seat routine. Before you buckle your child in, remember to take off their bulky winter coat. In a crash, thick padding compresses instantly, leaving the harness straps too loose to hold them securely. Always buckle and tighten the harness directly over their regular clothes first. Afterward, you can drape their coat backward over their arms or use a blanket to keep them warm and safe.

💚“I want to thank each of the people who made possible every help for my family. We will always be grateful since the situation we were in made it very difficult for us to solve these expenses. There is no way I can let you know how much [Catholic Charities] helped us, but we will be very grateful…thank you very much!” – A new mother who received assistance through the Baby Bottle Campaign

A young single mother called Catholic Charities for help with her utility bill. She had recently left an unhealthy relationship and was now managing all her bills on her own while raising a new baby. She received a disconnection notice and needed help to keep her utilities on. This mother met with a Catholic Charities social worker to apply for assistance. We completed a budget to help her look at income and expenses and make a plan for the future. We were able to pay her outstanding utility bill, and she was able to increase her hours at work. With her increase in income, this mother is confident that she will be able to pay her bills in the future. The funds donated through the Baby Bottle Campaign made this payment possible for this family and many others across Southern Minnesota.

With nearly 100 churches, schools, and groups participating in our 20th Annual Baby Bottle Campaign, our team cut tags, printed posters, stuffed envelopes, delivered bottles, and mailed packets in the weeks before the campaign. Our campaign kicked off October 4 and runs through the month of October. If you have a bottle, fill it with your donation and return by the end of the month! You can also give online at www.ccsomn.org/donate and indicate “Baby Bottle Fund” to support new and expectant parents in Southern Minnesota!
