This week I joined the Lake Arrowhead Chamber of Commerce's Government Affairs Committee to discuss legislative proposals that can benefit small businesses in the mountain communities.

This past Saturday I was in Barstow for the 88th Annual Kiwanis Club of Barstow Crossroads which included local schools, service organizations, and youth groups in the community.

This morning I'm participating in the Select Committee on Youth Homelessness in San Bernardino County and discussing ways the legislature can address youth homelessness and substance abuse in our region.

I had a great time at lunch with the Military Officers Association of America, Mojave Desert Chapter talking about some of my legislation to reduce fees for veterans who are starting a new business upon an honorable discharge from the U.S. Armed Forces.

It was an honor to join Victor Valley Global Medical Center and Dr. Kali Chaudhuri for the groundbreaking of the new emergency room, which will increase healthcare access to residents throughout the High Desert and increase capacity to over 40,000 patient visits per year.

Did you know it's Red Ribbon Week? My office is providing certificates to our school districts to honor students' contributions to celebrating life and living drug-free.
