My bill, the No Tax Breaks For ICE Contractors Act, cancels tax breaks for corporations that contract with ICE. The legislation just PASSED the Assembly floor.

ICE and their corporate collaborators are profiting from horrific atrocities in immigrant detention camps. Our taxpayer dollars cannot be used to bankroll their reign of terror.

Until the federal government wakes up and abolishes ICE, we must do our part to stop ICE’s reckless violence.

California is the breadbasket of the nation. Yet, 8.8 million people are experiencing food insecurity.

Now, the federal government is exacerbating the hunger crisis and deepening poverty by imposing expanded work requirements for hundreds of thousands of CalFresh recipients.

The empirical evidence is clear: work requirements do not increase employment. Instead, they impose bureaucratic paperwork designed as tripwires for people to fall over.

Today, my office joined the City of Milpitas, City Government to honor and remember the brave service members who made the ultimate sacrifice for our country. On memorial day, we pay tribute to their courage and patriotism. Our fallen heroes will never be forgotten.

Proud to recognize the Ohlone Humane Society as the 2026 Nonprofit of the Year of Assembly District 24! So grateful for the partnership with Ohlone Humane Society over the years.

The volunteer-run group serving the Tri-Cities does such important work in protecting animals, fostering kittens, and healing our urban wildlife. Their work wouldn’t be possible without the dedication of their volunteers! Reach out to OHS if you’d like to contribute or foster a kitten!

Many CalFresh recipients could lose benefits starting June 1 due to new requirements 05/20/2026

Starting June 1st, the federal budget bill H.R. 1 will impose cruel and punitive work requirements, forcing the poorest Californians into even deeper poverty.

The expanded work requirements are red tape traps to cut off vital food aid to low-income people. This is yet another federal policy created to starve our families.

As the federal government seeks to destroy our safety nets, we must double down on our work to reduce hunger.

Many CalFresh recipients could lose benefits starting June 1 due to new requirements California leaders are trying to get the word out about upcoming changes to CalFresh that could put hundreds of thousands of people across the state at risk of losing their food benefits.

Your help today with preparing fresh, nutritious meals makes a real difference in our community. Loaves and Fishes distributes over 15,000 meals every week, and it's always good to see people taking the time to give back and support those in need.
