đŁAN IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT đŁ
It is with mixed emotions that I share some important newsâafter five wonderful years of grooming your beloved Bernese, Friends of Yogi Grooming will be closing, with our last day of operation on April 17, 2025.
What started as a passion project quickly became a career that brought me so much joy. I have loved every moment of working with your beautiful dogs, refining my skills, and forming friendships with clients I may never have met otherwise. Your trust and support have meant the world to me, and I am truly grateful.
As a family, we are embarking on a new chapter. We are moving from Eltham to the Yarra Valley to help care for my wifeâs elderly parents and assist in running their farm. With this transition, we have already closed my wifeâs business, and now the time has come to close Friends of Yogi Grooming as well.
To ensure your Bernese is looking and feeling their best before I close, I have added extra booking availability between now and April 17 for those who would like one final groom. As always, I remain available to answer any questions or assist in any way I can with your dogâs care.
While this marks the end of Friends of Yogi Grooming, itâs not goodbyeâjust see you later! We have exciting opportunities ahead, and I look forward to staying in touch.
From the bottom of my heart, thank you for your support, trust, and friendship over the years. It has been an absolute privilege.

Tips to protect yourself from unscrupulous breeders
The best advice when looking for a puppy is to take your time, do the research and check all of the credentials provided by the breeder before you commit to purchasing a pup.
- If they advertise, they are a âRegistered breederâ make sure that you ask who they are registered with and what that means. If they have just registered with the local council or are a member of an online dog group, that doesnât make them any more reputable.
- If they give a Dogs Victoria membership number, call Dogs Victoria on (03) 9788 2500 and make sure that their membership is both current and that details (such as breed and suburb) match.
- If they advertise an individual microchip number for the pup, check online that the number hasnât been used in other advertisements.
- If the breeder claims to have health tested the parents of the litter or the pups, ask what tests have been done and ask to see a copy of the report. If they cannot provide these, it is unlikely they have completed the tests.
You can also check for reviews of accredited breeders online to see what other experiences other members of the public have had.
If you are worried, always check before buying a pup.
