With this weather, we will bee seeing swarms pretty soon!
Please help us to offer them nice new homes!

Sure it is still cold and wet, but before we know it the girls will be out feverishly working the spring flow. That means swarm time is coming!
Please keep you eyes and ears out for new colonies who are looking for homes!
And if you have never seen a swarm before, it is shocking and maybe even a little scary. But don’t be afraid! Bees in a swarm are not aggressive. In fact they are at their most docile. We just don’t often see them in those numbers!
If you are lucky enough to see a swarm, please get in touch ASAP! Time is of the essence! They are looking for a new home and I have really great places to offer them.
Thanks a lot!
Keep me in mind!

Received a call yesterday about a late season swarm in Sutter Creek! They were a bit of a small swarm, but they are now getting accustomed to a nice new “Comfort hive” and hopefully they will thrive!

What is a Bee Swarm?

Well, When honey bees outgrow the hive they are in or decide to move for any reason, The way they do it is to swarm...
It is quite the shocking thing to see for many people. A huge clump of bees, often accompanied by a veritable cloud of flying bees. It looks down right dangerous, but it really isn't!
Now if you are actually allergic to bee stings, not just reactive like most of us, but you know that you are susceptible to a reaction that would cause anaphylactic shock, you already know that you probably don't want to have anything to do with the girls (BTW, expect for a very rare drone or two, all of the bees in a swarm are female, like most of the honey bees you will likely see...)

Don't worry about swarming bees! They are at their least protective, and most docile... Even if seeing a bunch like that freaks you out, they are very little risk to you.

they are just looking for a new home.

I have a great spot for them on our property. Acres of wild forage and a fabulous better than organic farm with a wide assortment of plants for them to draw from... and pollinate.

I would love to offer them that chance...

If you see a swarm, please give me a call ASAP, As they will not hang around for very long, a day or two is the most! Often only hours... and I can give them a great place where they will have as nice a home as I can manage for them. That is so much better than them finding a hole in someone's house siding or roof, that happens way too often and usually turns out bad for both the bees and the home owner...

So PLEASE CALL ME ASAP (916)802-5896, when you see a swarm! Thanks!
