CAPITOL PARK TOURS! Meet behind the State Capitol at the intersection of 13th & Capitol. Tours are Wednesdays & Sundays starting at 11:00 am. Bring some water, a camera and ready for some stories.

Have you experienced this in person? The California State Capitol building is ready for your visit! If you are passing through town, or a local that has never gone inside the building, immerse yourself with the past, present and future of The Golden State.

Learn about the birds in your neighborhood by joining the Capitol Park Bird Talk and Walk on Feb 15 from 9am-10:30am. Meet at 13th and Capitol Avenue in the park grounds at 9:00am for a brief talk before we walk through Capitol Park searching for resident and migratory birds. This will help beginning birders participate in the Great Backyard Bird Count held every February. No bird watching experience is necessary.

Tours begin in Capitol Park directly behind the Capitol building at 13th & Capitol. Bring an umbrella and hope to see you there!

A story about granite, construction costs and early California train travel during the State Capitol’s original construction in the 1860s.
