COVID-19, supporting peaceful protests, and…3D printing PPE? It's not the uniform that makes a true warrior: when he's not leading your California National Guard COVID-19 response, this member of your Californian Military Department spends his time at home printing face mask pieces for healthcare workers. Great story; thanks for sharing California Enlisted Association of the National Guard of the United States!

Hats off to all Californians finding purpose or providing service: Stay strong, California.
Not all warriors wear camouflage — or even uniforms. But these camouniform-wearin' CaliforniaWarriors do. Hats off the them, too!

Thank you, Gary Sinise Foundation for the stepping up to support First Lieutenant Dakota Wagaman — part-time Soldier, full-time CaliforniaWarrior — as she recovers from injuries tragically sustained while serving as a deputy with the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department. Wagaman, a part-time chemical officer serving in the California National Guard's 1-160th Infantry Battalion, was badly injured in November when, on duty as a full-time sheriff's deputy, she was struck by a vehicle while bravely pursuing a suspect on foot. The Gary Sinise Foundation, through its Heal, Overcome, Persevere, and Excel (H.O.P.E.) initiative, was able to cover Wagaman's bills, which had accumulated during her stay in the hospital. Thanks again, Gary Sinise Foundation, for your support! Let us all keep Dakota and her family in our thoughts during her difficult, ongoing recovery.
Los Angeles County Sheriff's deputy Dakota Palanca was critically injured last November when a suspected drunk driver struck the 25-year-old law enforcement officer while she was chasing a suspect on foot. Deputy Palanca has been serving the Los Angeles County community in the Sheriff's department for nearly five years. She concurrently serves in the California Army National Guard as an officer in an infantry unit. After being in a medically induced coma and using a respirator to breathe, Deputy Palanca remains on the road to recovery, supported by her family and law enforcement officers nationwide. The Gary Sinise Foundation, through its Heal, Overcome, Persevere, and Excel (H.O.P.E.) initiative, was able to cover her bills while she was in the hospital. http://bit.ly/39LuI9i
