Keep Your Medi-Cal

Keeping your Medi-Cal coverage starts with keeping your information up to date and completing your renewal when required. Report changes in your information and watch for letters from your county about your annual Medi-Cal renewal.

Some individuals may be renewed automatically, while others may receive a renewal form requesting additional information. If you receive a renewal form, complete and return it promptly to help avoid a gap in your health coverage.

For more information about keeping your Medi-Cal and completing your renewal, please visit the Keep Your Medi-Cal at, https://www.dhcs.ca.gov/medi-cal/keep/

Help Older Adults Beat the Heat

Extreme heat can pose serious health risks, especially for older adults. Take a moment to check on older family members, friends, and neighbors to make sure they are staying cool, hydrated, and safe during periods of high temperatures.

Spend time in air-conditioned spaces when possible, limit exposure to the heat, stay informed about weather conditions and emergency alerts, and know the signs of heat-related illness. A simple check-in can make a meaningful difference in helping someone stay safe.

How To Recognize Phishing
Scammers use email or text messages to try to steal your passwords, account numbers, or Social Security numbers. If they get that information, they could get access to your email, bank, your other accounts, or they could sell your information to other scammers. Scammers launch thousands of phishing attacks like these every day, and they often update their tactics to keep up with the latest news or trends. For more tips to learn about some common tactics used in phishing emails or text messages, please visit; https://consumer.ftc.gov/articles/how-recognize-and-avoid-phishing-scams

Extreme Heat and Cooling Centers

With a heat advisory in effect in parts of California, residents are encouraged to take precautions to stay safe and cool. High temperatures can increase the risk of heat-related illness, especially for older adults, children, people with disabilities, and individuals with certain health conditions.

Stay hydrated, limit outdoor activities during the hottest parts of the day, and spend time in air-conditioned spaces when possible. Cooling centers may also be available for those who need a safe place to get relief from the heat. Beware of Phishing Scams
Phishing is when attackers send malicious emails designed to trick people into falling for a scam. There are several tips that consumers can follow to avoid phishing scams, such as not responding to any type of solicitation that is unfamiliar or looks suspicious in any way. NEVER click on unsolicited videos or links; AND never give out personal information. If you think you know the sender, contact them to ensure they sent the email/request. Report all suspicious emails. For more details, please visit: https://consumer.ftc.gov/articles/how-recognize-and-avoid-phishing-scams
