60 years ago, Golden Gate Regional Center and Frank D. Lanterman Regional Center, the first two pilot regional centers, changed the landscape for developmental services. Today, California's 21 regional centers serve nearly 500,000 people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
This week, the state reaffirmed that commitment with the introduction of SCR 174, a legislative resolution sponsored by ARCA, honoring this milestone alongside authors Senators Pérez and Scott Wiener.
We are proud to mark this milestone and reaffirm our commitment to the communities we serve. Here's to 60 years!

ACTION ALERT! We need your support for AB 1670 (Dr. Joaquin Arambula) to help remove a major barrier to dental care for California's I/DD community.
With this bill, Medi-Cal providers would receive compensation when an individual’s physical, behavioral, developmental, or emotional condition requires significantly more time and attention to provide desensitization services to ensure safe dental care.
